While I think it would be nice and easy to just get an estimate based on a picture and an email I'm not sure I would want to ....
Maybe if my faucet in the kitchen sink leaks and I want a new one installed (This is something I would do myself but you get the idea)... ."here's a picture, I just need a new one installed etc.
But for my 200amp electrical service upgrade for instance, my electrician came to my house, walked around the basement, inspected the wiring in the house, then inspected the panel, then walked around the house, checked to make sure he could get grounding rods in etc, climbed up on a ladder and determined codes had changed and the weatherhead needed to be raised.... THEN he went home and wrote a materials list and THEN he called me and gave me a dollar amount. It was a really good experience for me because I realized how much goes into the estimate.
