Hi, just looking for some advice. While remodeling our bathroom my wife and I recently discovered that our attic has only about 2 inches of blown in insulation. We're thinking that we should put in more but neither of us are sure of what the correct course of action should be. Should we remove all the insulation and put in new stuff? If so, then what type? Or should we insulate over the original blown in stuff that's there? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
No need to remove what is there, just add to it. Dependant on the region of the country (climate) you are in, that is what dictates the amount of insulation you need to install and the thickness it should be at.
