Question

Need help to determine whether I should continue or not

Hi all,

this is my first post on this forum and I hope it doesnt get negative feedback :D

The thing is, I recently got the idea that I could use a room on the upper floor of an old cement workshop or whatever (the upper floor is filled with sand and cat poo). Signs of possible molding.

The idea was that it would be a studio for my mixing/mastering projects and it would be acoustically treated (and painted). Other things such as parket are not so important (a large thick IKEA carpet would most likely be on the floor). I would take out all of the stuff, throw away all of the sand and paint the walls but is all this work worth doing?

Info or tips would be gladly appreciated

thanks!

Kind of hard for anyone here to determine if it is worth it
Are you paying rent ?
Do you have to pay to heat the area ?
Is it worth it to you ?

Pictures are too, "close up" to see anything. Wider shots would be more helpful in getting an idea of the space.
As Dave mentioned, worth ,is relative to the details of the space. You're a little detail shy.

Looks as if there are plenty of moisture issues, and have been for a long time. I think I would be addressing those items first.

Sorry, I didnt think about posting $ issues
Im not currently paying (or probably will not be paying rather) for the space if it gets cleaned up. The whole house is for rent at 40000 ISK per month which is hilariously low, but it is out of reach for me because I dont have a drivers license. My grandfather is renting the whole house (incl. the upper floor which he doesnt use). He uses it for wood sculpturing which you can find here: http://teddi.net/

When I was there I only had my 400d camera and took these photos, maybe I have some time to take better pictures with a wide angle lens if that is possible. Ill have it sorted probably this week or so
Ill provide you more details if needed

Also forgot to mention, the main reason im posting here is because I wanted to know if you could spot something that is impossible to fix for a young broke guy from Iceland

Cheers

Kári

*edit* I dont have the size of the place but maybe it is possible for me to get the plans for the house, though I think its pretty old and maybe id have to measure the sizes myself
