Mystery lock, please help!!


i am trying to find a relacement for this lock, any ideas any1, i have run out.......

on the face plate it says whampton and A56, on the side of the casing it has the letter W and number 56?

seems cery similar to modern mortice locks but completely different dimensions....... and ideas?

I don't really know were to find, What is wrong or broken on the original? Could it be repaired?

they have two identicle locks and has managed to lose 4 keys. not overly clever

If you bring it into a lock smith they may be able to make a key. They might have to take the lock apart. But at least a possible solution with out refitting the doors.

i think you really need to have the lock smith take a look at it and check it out further for you.

cheers for your help but i have actually found the modern day equivalent at a company called Doorplan in Potters Bar, had almost given up looking when they said we may have something.......
