Hi,
I also have a Murray/Noma snowblower. I have to replace one of the augers. It is a two stage blower. I can't figure out how to remove the old auger. I removed the screws supporting the auger on each side of the housing but the center gearbox is tied to the impeller and wonder if someone can give me an idea of how to remove the assembly. I thought either the auger assembly would have slid off the impeller shaft or the auger/impeller assembly would have slid out of the motor housing. The exploded parts view does not show any retaining rings anywhere.

I'm having the same problem. Can't remove the auger assembly from snowblower. Drive shaft does not slide out.
Anyone know how to remove the augers. my welds cracked and need to have them re-welded.

You have to break the blower in two at the point where the drive belts are and remove the flywheel by removing the nut that held it on. It's actually the rear of the impeller shaft. Then you can pull out the entire auger/impeller assembly and the augers slide off the shaft. Don't lose the key in the keyway. If you study the snowblower manual it will become clear.

Wish the side of the auger housing came off but it does not. It is welded on my model.

I also wish someone told me about this on this list instead of my reinventing the wheel.

If it's a Noma, feel free to ask me any other questions that might pop up. I may (or may not) have some of the answers...
