Mouse poop in attic!

I was checking out my attic area and moved a piece of insulation that looked loose. I found a bunch of mouse poop (could of been another rodent but it appeared to be mouse). This has got me worried that they are still living up there!

I am giving thought to removing all insulation to check for an infestation. While I am at it I could get rid of all the old insulation and get a blower and put all fresh insulation once I verify the attic is sealed.

The house is 60 years old, I doubt the insulation is that old, but it looks like it has seen better days.

Thoughts on the subject?

Put some mouse traps up there & see if you catch anything

Mouse poop in attic!

i had some mouse poop on my kitchen counter 1 day so i set one trap on counter and one on floor. The traps i used didnt use poison and did not kill them. each trap caught one for 3 consecutive days....no more mice droppings. I don't use mouse poison products because they will end up dying in the walls and stink up your house when they rot.good luck

i will get some traps, should i be concerned about the poop that is up there?? It just seems disgusting to me but I would have to rip out all the insulation to make sure everything is clean..

Uh, if you were to ever see all the creatures that crawl around and through your house and yard... not to mention seeing all the microscopic animals that live in your bed and on your sofa, it would freak you out.

The poop will dry, some of those other creatures I mentioned will eat it, and you can forget about it.
