Question

Mounting Plasma on Brick Veneer

Howdy,

I've installed a 58" Panasonic plasma tv (~130 lbs) on a brick veneer wall. The veneer isn't the thin type of brick veneer, but whole bricks.

I used a low profile Peerless mounting bracket (Model ST660), which is rated for 200 lbs, and five 5/16" X 1 3/4" masonry anchors (the plastic sleeve type). They're rated at 300lbs vertical and 150lb pull (sheer?).

Does this sound safe to you? My wife is giving me mondo-grief about the install, swearing the mondo-expensive tv will come crashing down.

I appreciate any feedback you all can provide.

Sincerely,

Bob

Mounting Plasma on Brick Veneer

Just be carefull what you watch.Paris Hilton vs. Rosanne Barr.No documentaries on whales or elephants.Golf vs. football...actually it depends on the brick and how it was installed. If it's holding now.it's probably good, but like your wife I'd like to see it secured to backing behind the brick.
