Question

Metal cover with T in front yard

Some of my neighbors have a metal cover, roughly 4 inch square with a big "T" on it. I was wondering what kind of line this is. Natural gas maybe?

Gas meter on side of house. I have never seen a gas shut off other than right on the meter.
Where is this box? in front lawn? side of house? pole near house?
Post a picture.

In NYC, they have shutoffs either on the sidewalk or the grass apron next to the sidewalk. The box is about 4x4 and has a little,"G" on it.
Tripower, you would ask your neighbors if they have gas. Or you could call the gas company and ask them if that is theirs. It might be quicker then an internet question.

That's good one

It sounds like a modern America urban neighborhood where neighbors don't talk to neighbors.
