making straight lines

Hello,

I started working on aluminum recently and I'm finding difficulty making straight line in a short time.

Is there a tool to ease the process ( for centerlines and other distances )?

Thanks.

Little more detail on exactly what it is your working on would help.
Alumiunm plate, coil stock, siding ECT.
What have you been using to do it?

Alumiunm blocks and plates. I was using a ruler ( making dots and connecting them! ).
