Looking for some base/floor cabinets for the garage...

Hello all,

I need some suggestions for some base/floor cabinets for storage in the garage. My boss has what I consider to be perfect in his garage – some Husky plastic cabinets with metal fronts but they have been discontinued, and the metal replacements are quite a bit more than I’m looking to spend. Can anyone offer any suggestions for a “like” product? Links are more than appreciated!

For reference, here are some pics of the kind of thing that I’m looking for. Dimensions are 30W x19D x 34H and were $80-$100 each.

I did mine with a whole set I bought on Craig List. There kitchen cabinet base units. I paid $300.00 for 20' of cabinets plus I got the over head ones and the counter tops to and they all match.

You can spend a lot of money on those 'garage' cabinets....

I would avoid plastic....it just does not hold up well in a garage....stuff tends to bend and sag.

I built my own....but Joecaption's way is one of the best ways to go when you don't want to spend a lot of money....

In some cases you can get them from free....quite often someone will do a kitchen remodel and put on CL their old cabinets....for free.

I saw some in the Habitat for Humanity store that had been in a house with 14' ceilings they had a price tag on them that had been lowered so many times they had to start writing on the back side of the tag.

Not a whole lot homes have 14' ceilings.
They must have had to use a library ladder to get to the top cabinets.
