Looking for the safest wat to remove broken glass from a picture window

well, the little $hits shot my picture window yesterday. The crack is significant and I'm wondering what the best way is to 1) s=reinforce the glass until I can get it replaced and 2) safely remove the broken pane without it walling all over the place.
thanks for any and ll help!

If it is just cracked, tape it up with duct tape or similar(reinforced tape of some kind). As for getting the glass out, might be best to leave that to the guys that replace the glass. But I would use a long handled gadget and just break it all out, then clean up after with dustpan and a vac. Protect floors, etc., with sheets, blankets, etc.

Cover it with duct tape, (giant x's) so in the event that it does break it will not be EVERYWHERE. Myself I would leave it in place with the duct tape until the pros can get there. Just my.02 cents
