So call me not quite as green as I thought I was so I am looking for some rationale to appeal to those greener than myself. I have some new neighbours (renters) who share a fence with me. It's just your typical 6' tall wall of boards, stained, rickety and about to be painted on my side anyway.
They like to hang laundry out to dry which is fine by me but today I found the fence covered in bedding

. Being honest, it looks like crap. I don't like looking at it. I don't like having it hanging in my yard. Still being honest I don't want to appear to be a cranky jerk either when I tell them to cut it out, so I am looking for a better reason than 'it looks like crap, use your clothes line'.
So, does hanging wet bedding all over a wooden fence all day mean the fence boards could be damaged (especially since the stain is wearing off on both sides)?
