Leather couch repair

Hope this is in the correct forum as their was not one for furniture repair.

I have a leather couch that has the cushions sewn in as part of the couch. Over time the stuffing in them has lost it's firmness and I would like to replace it but am not sure how to go about it. I was thinking I could tear open the bottom of the couch and the access the cushions from underneath. Add more stuffing and then sew up the cushions and the bottom. Is this possible? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
