laying down hardiebacker to osb

Hey, everyone.....i am getting ready to put down 1/4" hardiebacker on top of osb...was wondering what I should use....hardie recommends a dry-set mortar for use between subfloor and cement board with ansi spec of A118.1....and I guess for actually laying the tile, a spec of A118.4 is recommended which Versabond flex meets.....any suggestions....thanks from a newbie.

I've always used good old basic thinset from a dry bag mix. Trowel it out with a notched trowel, lay your backerboard in it and screw or nail it down immediately.
