Am I supposed to be able to read this book? All I get a tiny piece of the index page.

Select a page, and type the number in the box provided.

You can scroll up or down from there, or go type another page number in the box.

The neatest way is to just start scrolling down from the index pages where it opens. Won't be long til you reach pictures.

I only have search box which only brings up 1 inch sections of the book. If I put in a page number all I get is sections of the index.

I can not open this a whole book unless I buy it. I only get the 'snippet view'.

Don't know what to say. Have you tried clicking on READ in the upper left corner?

Try clicking on the little square box with four arrows in the corners (full screen), then enter the page, press enter. OR, grab the slider on the right hand vertical track, pull down while watching the pages box...

Gee, GBR--That's good information, I've bookmarked it for future references. BUT-as I was looking at a few different pages, I was having a hard time cleaning off some spots on my laptop screen. The were on the papers that were scanned. Time for new bi-focals? Thanks, David

Must be not available in Canada or something. I don't get a read button. All I get is a "Why can't I read the entire book?" and this when I click it.

Many of the books in Google Books come from authors and publishers who participate in our Partner Program. For these books, our partners decide how much of the book is browsable -- anywhere from a few sample pages to the whole book.

For books that enter Google Books through the Library Project, what you see depends on the book's copyright status. We respect copyright law and the tremendous creative effort authors put into their work. If the book is in the public domain and therefore out of copyright, you can page through the entire book and even download it and read it offline. But if the book is under copyright, and the publisher or author is not part of the Partner Program, we only show basic information about the book, similar to a card catalog, and, in some cases, a few snippets -- sentences of your search terms in context. The aim of Google Books is to help you discover books and learn where to buy or borrow them, not read them online from start to finish. It's like going to a bookstore and browsing - with a Google twist.
