That obviously depends on the appliance in question. Somewhere there are some fasteners, but they are not always obvious; may be hidden under gaskets or glued on trim of some sort. Did you try looking on product web site for service manuel text. Often if you call the manufacturers 800 help #, they can connect you with a person in the technical dept, which is where repair persons in the field get info from. They have access to all of the exploded parts drawings and written instructions for performing various tasks.
