Intalling marble threshold

Hi - I'm new to this forum but a keen DIY'er. Having a challenge replacing a marble threshold between tiled bathroom and carpeted hallway. Put down thinset yesterday and 12 hours later the marble lifted off easily. Used same thinset as the all the bathroom tiles except the thinset had been sitting in an open container for a week. Didn't comb it well - could that be why it did not set??? Anyone??

Intalling marble threshold

The thinset should have been rock hard after 1 day. Are you using something that came premixed?
