Installing door jamb for sliding surface mount door

I plan to replace a hinged door and frame with surface mount sliding door hardware. The current hinged door was added about 3 years ago as a temp conversion to a bedroom. The opening was not sized for a door so it is about 84" in height and accommodated a 36" door frame.

I need to install the door jamb for the new sliding door. I think I have an idea how to build the jamb. I want a stop for the door when it is closed so I know I have to extend the jamb on that side of the opening into the room.

Can anyone recommend a book or PDF instructions (doesn't have to be free) that shows how to design door jambs for sliding surface mount doors?

Installing door jamb for sliding surface mount door

Adding jambs to an opening is simple enough---look at instructions for hanging a prehung door--
-buy or make the jambs--
-check the floor for level--
-adjust the jamb side lengths if the floor is out of level--
-glue and nail the head(top) jamb to the sides--
-put it in place and shim and nail---

Thank you. I realized I could also use the instructions for installing molding and "jambs" on a passageway between rooms.

Now onto buying the surface mount sliding door hardware and a door.
