Identifying Mold Issue

Good Evening,

I'm not sure if this was the right forum to post this question, so I apologize in advance if it is wrong.

I am looking at purchasing a townhouse that has mold growing on the drywall above the master shower stall. I have had my real estate agent, the inspector, and a contractor friend tell me just to spray some bleach solution on it and it will go away, however I am concerned this might be a larger issue. Is there any well to tell without invasive surgery if this is a major mold issue or a simple clean up?

Thanks!

Mold on a bathroom ceiling is not unusual, especially if there is no fan or the fan is not used. From your pics, I cannot tell you there is no other issue. Spray it as suggested and see what happens.

I agree with Just Bill; if there's no fan, consider installing one.
