I need a help please.
Im about to close on my first home. Its a beautiful home its just that its the previous owners style. I love what she did with the house I just wanted to make a lil change to it. I want to know what other colors can be used for the dinning room (I wanted yellow) below are some pics of the kitchen and Dining room. I also posted a pic of the tile color.

Very nice house.
The colours you already have a pretty neutral, so in my opinion you can go with pretty much anything. You said you like yellow, and I think that is a great choice, as all of my first floor has yellow. (Benjamine Moore, summer harvest is what is used.) I feel it opens up the space and is a colour that is alive and bright and happy. ..........just my 2 cents. |
Thank you can I get some more opinions?

I agree with YummyYummy A soft Yellow is what I would go for and I would do the Kitchen as well. |

I agree with darylh on the kitchen being yellow also.
My kitchen is also soft yellow and I love it. In my opinion, you do need some sort of colour in your neutral decor. You can also add another splash of colour using accessories, etc. In my kitchen, I have a very large wall where I put up very colourful pictures. All placed very close to one another. I have six large pieces of artwork all close together. Has a very nice effect. |

I just clicked on your web site and saw the work that you do.
very nice. I love the bathroom with the dark wood and sink. Really nice. And the floors. They look like slate. I also have slate in one of my bathrooms, but I like what you did around the edge. Really nice. |
Thanks for the compliments and advice. Theres really no where to paint in the kitchen all of that is Cabinet, and the backsplash is smoke mirror

I like the mint green on the walls. But i hate the white cabinets. I would recomend starting there. But thats just my taste. your taste might be different. its just well i dont know the white cabinets give a cool feeling to the room instead of a warm feeling if you will. But on the other hand if you like the white cabinets then i think they look great because its your home and taste.

Oh it look like light mint green. I would recomend doing this. Call up a interior designer and ask them how much they would charge for a 1 hour in house consultation. I don't think it will be that much. She will have great ideals on wall colors and also window treatments to add even more color to the room. They will also show up with there own paint pallet.

New, those valances are something else, I've never seen anything like them. I take it there is a light behind the central triangle?

I like 747's suggestion.
If I ever would redecorate, I would definitely get an interior designer and consult with them. I also don't think that they are very expensive. |
