How to tell the difference between scratches and hairline cracks in a tub?

I have an tub that's either acrylic or fiberglass - not sure which.

The drain is on one side, on the other side near the bottom - where the bottom of the tub meets the side walls of the tub, I see a few what I thought were scratches, but the more I look at it, the more I think may be they are hairline cracks.

I am not surprised the tub isn't supported properly. I never noticed it until recently when the anti-slipping mat was peeled back and removed.

I thought about sanding it a little but I don't want to marr the surface of the tub if it's just some scratches.

Anyone know of a way to tell if it's a series of cracks or scratches?

I took pictures but due to the faintness of these scratches they don't show well enough to be useful.
