How tall is a normal tall bar in a kitchen?

How tall is a normal kitchen tall bar? It just occurred to me that the one we built might be taller than normal and i just want to double check.

If you have a tall bar, how tall is it? Similar to the one below?

42" above the floor is typical. You can have different heights based upon what you can easily find for stools.

We make ours 6" higher than the base cabinet they are on... then add the top.

Sounds like about a shot glass higher than normal. Not much. My regular cabinets are 39" anyway (We're both tall, and my whole house is custom-made to take that into consideration.)

Yeah my fiance requested that we make the cabinets higher than normal so he didnt have to bend over, but i told him i couldnt do that because of where the plugs are located, and because im only 5'2" so any taller and i wouldnt be able to use them comfortably.
