How to replace vinyl siding

1 Attachment(s)
I have a bunch of small random holes in my vinyl siding. Some are from the old deck where the builder decided to screw boards righ through the vinyl. Some are mystery holes that have been there since I bought the house. Can I remove middle pieces of siding without removing every piece above or below it first?

Here's one hole, as you can see I don't think my house has any paper between the siding and the wood which is why I want to just replace the few pieces with holes.

First I would see if I could find a match.
Yours is a simple D-4 or D-5 which just means Double 4 or 5" exposure.
The trick is to try to match the brand.
I'd go to HD and Lowes since there close to your house and get one of there small sample they hand out for free. What you want to look for is the grain pattern.
Some companys look like cedar, some look like flat sawn pine.
The way those houses where built in your area I'd guess they used the least expencive .040 siding they could.
Just need a flat bar and one of there to take it off and replace it.

Should take no more then 5 min to remove and replace each panel.
If some need to be cut a pair of tin snips will work in a pinch or a plywood blade on backwards on a ciruler saw will also work.

If you go to YouTube, you can find some videos on how to replace siding.

Yes, you can replace siding, but for that find out the brand used. It will be easier then to replace and find a suitable one.

Depending on how lucky you are sometimed if you remove a piece all the info is printed on the back side of the siding on the heam.

Is their grass near the holes? Maybe a lawnmower kicked up a rock and sent it through the siding. Not helpful, I know, but maybe solves the mystery.
