:help: :surrender: Can some one tell me how much they would pay a teenager to clean pine needles off an aluminum roof and out of the gutters. The roof is shingled, not paneled, and I can't find any instructions on how to walk on it. :wallbash: So if anybody has information about that too, I'd really appreciate it. :notworthy:
Well, you have to first realize if that kid falls off your roof, you are liable as the home owner for his injuries because more than likely he doesn't have a worker's comp insurance policy. And if he damages your roof or steps through it, or tears the gutters off on his way down, he's got no way to replace it, because as a teenager he probably has no liability insurance.
In all honesty, if you can't do it yourself, then it boils down to some things are best left for licensed and insured pros.
Not to be a jerk, but: more than a paperboy and less than a "fries with that" type of person would in your particular region (it can vary greatly)
At least the "fries than that" guy has not enough insurance (per his employer) to not to go on your roof
And hopefully he is not a legal citizen, and can't sue you for any/all reasons if it goes bad....and the possibilities are endless...
...at least there is some sort of insurance agency involved
...which still means you are hosed if he falls off...or even claims to have...
OK, really, get an insured, licensed, contractor
I'm not covering for my buddies
It's a very real and monetary (now and future) and safety type of thing
 Even undocumented aliens have the legal right to sue you if they get hurt on your property. Lawsuits by undocumented aliens are not rare. And you could be prosecuted for hiring them. So hiring undocumented aliens does not protect you one bit.
have someone do the job from a ladder. spray the roof with a hose, clean the gutters out by hand. walking around up there is a no-no.
