How do you remove wall board glue?

Hi there!!! We are new homeowners and are renovating a 56 year old dobie house. We just started the bathroom, and removed some wall board tile, and now are trying to get the glue off the wall so we can paint. But the glue won't come off. It seems to be some form of contruction glue???

Any suggestions?

Its not going to happen..That stuff is nasty..How much of it is there? If its just caulking likes they may peel off.If its acrylic adheasive spead out with a vnotch trowell forget it..Cover it up with ceramic or cut out all glued surfaces and redrywall messy areas .

Agreed, this just isn't possible. Removal of tile is normally followed by removal and replacement of wallboard or lath and plaster. Your best bet is probably to remove the wallboard where the tile was and replace it with new.
