How to change the lock on a cabinet i found?

I found this old explosion proof cabinet that would be great for my paint stuff and general gear storage. I plan to sand and repaint it. It has a small cylinder lock. Is there an easy way to replace this?

Those chrome plated "L" handles are pretty standard. There may be an access plate on the inside of the cabinet door that you remove to get to the back of it. If not then you might have to remove the panel on the inside of the door. The box stores may have replacements. Garage door companies would have them. I would plan on sawing the square spindle to length on your replacement.
