magnets.... mount one onto that floor register then a strip piece onto the bottom edge of the door.so when it swings back they lock up on each other. http://www.knobsandhardware.com/door-stops_707.html

The security hinges usually have a small set screw holding the pin in place. I donít think the hinge that he has in place are cheap hinges.

I don't think they are particularly cheap hinges either. Taking a closer look at the pic and rereading the original post, I wonder if they aren't partially threaded and removed with an internal hex or torx wrench. Could even be a security torx. If that's the case though, I doubt there would be enough thread in there to add a hinge mounted door stop. I think in this case, I would be looking at an angle bracket that would mount to the wall or door jam behind the hinge and stop the door there.

If the op really wants to know what type of hinge he has and how to remove the pin, then may I suggest to remove the hinge and taking it to a security hardware place in his area to give him his answer.

Why not just screw/glue a wedge to the top of the door, so the wedge hits the trim, just like a hinge mounted stop?

Had a fromer firefighter as a client who invented a thing called the HookCheck. Firefighters have obvious reasons for needing to keep doors open and he found it easy to trip over things on the floor or screwed into the wall.

The hook check was a simple patented wedge with a retractable metal hook. You hooked it between the door and frame and it was out of the way and held the door open nicely. The things were so strong you could pull a door apart forgetting it was there though.

Not sure if you can still get them online or not.
