Horizontal window blinds that are too long

Is it possible to reduce the length of horizontal window blinds?

Width is fine, but the window is only 36" tall and the blinds when fully extended is 72" long.

So for years they simply had the bottom part of the blinds drawn up and sat on the sill.

It seems like it should be possible to remove all the excess pieces and turn it into a shorter version?

I have four windows (one pair for each) so a total of eight of these. Not sure if this is a simple thing to do?

With most and some patience, you can remove slats from the bottom. Look online for instructions. Of course you want to keep the bottom piece and keep the pull cords on both sides equal.

Are they just "regular" blinds? If so, then yes it's pretty easy - my mom tasked me with it for the first time when I was 10 yrs old.

If they are some sort of fancy blind, then I don't know.

if there mini-blinds style.just drop them down full 72" take a scissors and cut all the strings left to right horizontally 6" below that window.slide out the single blind leaving the strings hanging.see those pull ropes they need to go in the header bar with a knot..and push in button...go on YOUTUBE there are instruction videos for a visual..just watch the cutting it is critical to that ajustment.the ropes that pull the blinds and the thinner rope that hold the individual blind sections
