Horizontal Wall Crack

I have a horizontal crack in the foundation wall that I'd like some thoughts on:

1. Crack runs approximately 8 feet long. It is 4 feet from the ground at its peak and 3 feet from the ground at its lowest pint.

2. The crack is definitely hairline with no more than 1/16 inch crack.

3. No bowing is noticed with a 4 foot ruler...maybe 1/4 inch but couldn't tell if it was just flimsy ruler...don't have long enough level.

4. Crack runs up and down with no real pattern.

5. FYI...wall is painted brown and that's when I noticed it.

6.Ive now marked the crack for record purposes,

7. House is 22 years old.

So the big question....should I worry? Why or why not?

Forget about it. As you said the house is 22 years old, there's no waterleaks so do not mess with it. Foundations crack all the time, most often with a few years of being built. It could have been there a very long time and you just never noticed it.

looks like a shrinkage crack as the concrete cured. I regularly see similar looking cracks in floor slabs etc.

Looks like a shrinkage crack. Was probably there since the house was built. They usually start at a corner or window. I wouldn't worry about it, though water could possibly penetrate at some point.

@Knucklehead...it is right underneath where the front stoop would be located. I'm guessing there is something relevant about that or else you wouldn't have asked. I'd appreciate your thoughts...

I have seen this happen alot when they use stoop brackets on the foundation. It is not allowed around here anymore

I think, there is no need to worry over there. It's so thin actually.
