My wife and I just purchased a condo, and we're having the home inspector to scrutinize the property this afternoon.

The mold inspection will take place this morning.

Well....the suspense is killing us. What happened?

Well, it didn't go very well.

The condo units have not been inhabited for more than two years.

So when the home inspector turned on the shower, it cannot be turned off again.

Short of cutting out the water main to the entire condominium complex (which is out of the question, of course), the water cannot be stopped.

We contacted the seller's real estate agent, but he refused to get a plumber. So the water just ran all night and all day.

The seller is refusing to pay for the additional cost of the water utility bill as a result of this fiasco.

My brother is a real estate attorney. We just might sue them.

So you purchased the house already? Aww man I tell all of my clients to get inspections done before the purchase is complete.

There's got to be a shutoff valve someplace for each condo unit. I would think someplace around the meter for your unit.
Typically, unless you have an as-is agreement, the inspection is to make sure the property has no hidden problems before purchase.

We have not closed escrow yet, so officially, we do not own the property currently.

The condominium complex only has three units (yes, I know that's unusually small, but that's the way it is). There is only one water main shut-off, and we could not close it because the other two households needed the water last night.

We got a call back (finally) from the selling realtor, and he said the water has been temporarily shut off, and a plumber is currently working on the problem.

Still, we should not be responsible for the huge water bill in the coming month consequent of the issue.
