Home Design Software

I am newbie here. I am planning to finish my home basement myself.
I kind of know what I want, but I need to show what I have in mind to my wife.

So, the way to do it is to get a Home Design Software. I am not looking for expensive tool but easy enough to learn. I also need a software that can assist me not only the design, but it can calculate the materials (e.g. amount of lumber, drywall, hardwood, etc.)

So, if any of you can recommend me the software, I really appreciate it.

Home Design Software

Better Homes&Gardens Home designer, is made by the same people that do Chief Architect, but considerably less expensive. It is quite a powerful program for the price.
