Help with walkway project
I have pictures of this in the above link
My husband is a skilled craftsman, but we need help with design for the following:
We added a room to our house. It has a basement with an entrance door... (the door in the picture is temporary) The idea is to finish it and tie it in with the swimming pool... Eventually we will have a bathroom so our grandchildren and their friends can use it without having to go into our house.
Since we cannot afford to hire someone to do this we have to do it ourselves...
We need a walkway to the pool, but we need help... It has a V shape and it slopes in both sides toward the pool
I think we need some sort of retaining wall...We would appreciate any help you can provide us... Some ideas on retaining wall stepback or slope from top to bottom., etc...
A suggestion about software where I could input the picture and try different ideas... would also be helpful...

The cheapest, fastest, and least expensive option would be to just put in a concrete walkway from the door to the pool. Grade your sides so they can be planted with grass and mowed or plant some plants to hold back the dirt that don't need much maintenance.

Retaining walls would be nice but I don't think they would be required. If you widen things too much then the walls need to be taller and require some enigeering work.

The key with a walkway leading to a pool is your grade and elevation. You do not want to funnel ground water into your pool. The walkway needs to slope away from your basement door and also away from the pool. This may mean its lower in the middle than at the ends.
