Help!! Removing sliding doors?

I am parking a car in my basement tommorrow. I need to figure out how to get the sliding glass door off and the other glass panes. How do you do this? I would like to leave the frame in tact, but just remove the inside stuff. I'll ramp the car over the frame so that it doesn't damage it. I have Simonton vinyl windows in the basement. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I noticed two holes near the bottom of the door, does this remove the door from the track? Thanks! -Mike

Are you sure you can make a ramp that won't damage the threshold, that is a bit of weight...

Help!! Removing sliding doors?

I was thinking of just buying two sets of drive up car ramps and putting them back to back. I could always use lumber ramped up to a cinder block and then bridged by lumber or steel. I think the ramps should work though. Its a pretty light weight car < 2000 lbs.

So far I have screws undone near where the door closes. I read that you are supposed to pull two panels off at the lower section of the door on the outside. I see a panel on top and on the bottom for each glass pane, but I chipped the corner when trying to pull it out. Is this what I should remove?

Help!! Removing sliding doors?

okay looks like i use the two holes near the bottom of the door to adjust the roller heights, which allows me to remove the door. So last remaining is to figure out how to get the fixed panes of glass out. My doors look pretty similar to this:

Going to check for some screws hidden under trim on the inside now...

Help!! Removing sliding doors?

I think bob the builder ruined it for me. By providing me with information that didn't contribute to finding a solution to getting the doors off. And now everyone thinks my question has been answered because of the responses. Thanks bob, for the comment and then disappearing on me!

I've got a solution to the weight problem bob, you can lye down inbetween the ramps and then i will drive over them. You protect the threshold. He he jk. Well that's taking it a bit far... but can anyone help me?

Help!! Removing sliding doors?

I just want to come and watch....I've never seen a door frame collapse before......

seriously, maybe the reason there's no answer is because there's no answer. In the course of many years of dedicated diy'ing, I've put a lot of things where they didn't belong, but this just sounds like a disaster. Let us know how it turns out.
