help

can someone help me? this might be really easy but i'm stuck.
the lights in the house have popped.
i went into the fuse box and turned the one that's down back up but the bigger switch to the left of all the wee ones is also down...
if i turn this one up it blows the initial fuse again andit sparks...making me think that it's not good...any advice would be great!

Get an electrician in to look at it as there must be a fault in the circuit.

Yikes---When you say your lights popped--do you mean that literally?

It sounds like you might have lost the neutral coming into the house--

Were you doing something to the wiring before this happened?

Storm?

Tell us more--unplug all devices in the house with a LED display--and your T.V.

thanks for that,
nothing happened before the fuse blew, the light bulbs didn't explode bur sparks came flying out of it, almost alight!
we took the light shade off and have noticed that the wires seem blackened.
all the plugs at the bottom of the flat i.e. phone, tv, lamps, waching machine etc. are fine, they never flinched last night either, gonna phone electrician me thinks...
