Grout color change

Put up backsplash using wrong grout color. Can it be easily changed with an extra layer of correct grout color or does it all have to be chipped out? Or do we just have to live with the lighter color when we wanted dark?

If it's any consolation, it will darken over time. If you're impatient, you can stain the grout. Another layer on top, will not work.
Chipping out the grout will probably damage the tile.

Glad to hear it will darken....staining will probably be too tedious as they are 1" x 2" stainless tiles. We just needed to hear it from someone else and now get over the error that was made. Thanks so much.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Another thing I will add is that I've sometimes had a paint (for example) turn out a little darker or lighter than I had wanted, but grew to like it just fine.

Unless the grout is hideous, I don't see a huge problem here. Of course, it's not my house.

The only real option is a grout colorant. Aquamix makes a great one. It shouldn't be too bad, any excess will wipe right off the SS.
