goodman a/c fan outside stops n starts

Started hving this problem recently. Fan in ac unit outside starts and stops; never running for more than 10 seconds. Fan unit itself is not hot. Air continues to flow inside house, regardless, but its not cool air... not hot either. Seems it's circulating house air. Heating works fine.

Sound like weak power to keep fan going (or unclean power). Sorry if this is simple question.. no clue.

What areas should I focus on? Will get tech onsite, but what to learn a little to avoid being ripped off... if that's possible.

It's happening on 1 of 2 units that I have (upstairs air)... any help is appreciated. First floor unit is fine.. downstairs is nice and cool

Much thanks.

Just the fan cycles on and off or the whole AC? Just the fan and you're looking at a new motor or capacitor.
The whole AC then it's likely bouncing off the low pressure switch. That means there's a leak that needs to be fixed and the unit recharged. Hope it's just a capacitor!

Thanks for the reply... seems just the fan... there have been times where the fan runs for a few minutes... during hose times, he vents blow cold air...

Had a tech come onsite and he said I needed a starter kit... said the fan/compressor was not pulling enough amps start and so the fan keeps trying to start... but he gauge to measure and it showed pulling 13, 14 and 19 amps on the three times we tested. But, of course, on that day the unit worked fine... sucks!
