Hello all,

You have been so much help to me in the past that I came to ask for it again. I need to know asap.

I bought a new gold French Provencial Desk and chair, which is also covered in gold fabric. I would like to redo the finish on the desk and chair, but with the same gold color.

This is not the same gold that I put on the pieced I did in white with gold piping.

I have no idea if it was sprayed or brushed and what kind of gold, but I do know it is the original surface. But in bad shape.

Can any of you help me out?
Marti W

Marti---You need to find a fabric shop that specializes in upholstery fabric.

Chicago and New York city have several --But Arkansas? Perhaps a local upholstery shop could sell you something or suggest a supplier.

Still no luck

I have not received any replies to my post other than the one about a fabric place, but that was my fault because of wrong wording.

I really need to know the type of paint to use to redo this desk. Anyone have suggestions. I went to Home Depot with no luck. A co-worker said to take the drawer to Sherwim Williams so that will be this weekend. Has my grand last weekend and she does not like to shop or run around.

Thanks,
Martha

Taking a drawer to Sherwin-Williams is a good idea. Asking Mike to move your post to the painting forum (and adding a pic) may also get you more suggestions. But be prepared, I doubt you will find anything DIY that will match the original surface for color and durability.

Ok I was beginning to think that might be the case. Thank you.
