a glue that can be carved, sculpted

My kid needs some wood blocks for art class carving.
I have some scraps of 1x clear pine (from homedepot) soft enough for a beginner, but this is a first for me.
I know that yellow glue dries too hard. Even a chisel would skip over it.
How about gorilla glue? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that. Yellow glue is the glue of choice for what you're wanting to do.

Titebond 2 is what I'd be using.

Don't be such a tight wad. Go buy a 4x4 or 6x6, cut it up into blocks.

Re: a glue that can be carved, sculpted

Thanks for all replies. I can't spend money on this since first 100 blocks or so will be like printer papers? You don't buy kids canvas to begin.
I tried spray foam. Used a paint stick to scrape on a thin layer and clamp them over night. I think it would work. Hands alone twisting the layers and it is a solid block now. She's been carving it, with a small carving chisel and wood mallet. I got a pair of reinforced gloves against sharp edges. I think I need to make a table now with may be dog clamps.
