Genie Garage Door Opener - wall switch won't control LIGHT
We just installed a new Genie Garage Door opener. The wall controller has a switch to turn the light in the controller on/off. The button does not work. That is, after opening or closing the garage door, the lights in the controller head just stay on - eventually time out.
The wall controller is just a 2 wire connection ... it either works (to control the head) or not (if wired backwards). The controls on the switch itself both illuminate as expected and it is not in a "lock" position.
You might have just got a bad wall switch. I have installed a lot of genies and never had trouble with the light button function. If you hooked the wires up properly, which sounds like you did since the wall unit buttons are illuminated, I would call genie and ask them to send you another wall unit.
