I am trying to replace a standard light switch however the new timer switch has 3 wires (neutral, hot and load) and the switch I'm replacing only has 2 wires and the ground. Any ideas?
You don't have a neutral in the switch box. The feed is in the light box and they just ran the switch leg to the switch.
you would need to get the neutral down from the light.
Or
You could run a new feed to the switch and disconnect the feed from the light.
