garage motor keeps running when opening door

Hello,
As I opened the garage door this a.m. the motor would not stop running unless I pressed the button. I have kayaks that I used this weekend that hover over the motor. Don't remember making contact with motor as I took down the kayaks but there's a possibility. Any feedback would be truly appreciated, thanks all in advance!!

Most models of Genie openers have the travel limit switches up on top of the rail, they are tripped by a trigger attached to the chain or by a tab on the trolley.

The wires or the switches can be moved, disconnected or damaged if you are storing things above the opener. The trigger pieces can work loose or be dislodged from the chain also.

Sounds like a bad limit switch or wire to switch/control board.

garage motor keeps running when opening door

Here is my predicament: no obstructions(manually open and closed door), track is well lubed, all wires are connected. Yesterday morning the door would not go down and this afternoon the door won't open. motor turns on but it seems that it does not want to pull. For a while today it would close on his own but now it won't even do that. Seems like garage door opener is running out of juice or could it be the track?
