Garage Floor

I just had a home built with a three-car attached garage. The builder put a pretty significant grade in the floor. The garage is 23' deep; the floor is 3.25" lower near the doors than at the back. My tool box shoots across the garage!!! Is this a normal (standard) grade? Is there a construction/industry standard for floor grades? Need help with understanding this one...thanks for any help.

That sounds about right, You have a little more than 1/8" per foot slope. Less than that is not enough. :)

1/8" per foot is minimum by code around here.

Yes, to what Tom said.

Also .... don't forget to seal your new garage floor ASAP, prior to dirt and/or other contaminants gomming up the surface. An untreated cement floor means future frustration (IMHO).
