I have come to the internet world to plea for help with a garage door opener problem I'm having. I know it has to be something stupid that I am overlooking and just need some outside help.
I have a 2 year old Chamberlain 1/2 HP Garage door opener. Whenever I close the garage door the trolley and chain begin moving down the rail but the garage door doesn't go with it. This is only for a second. The trolley then basically runs into the door and pushes the door down the railing. The door doesn't fall, it just gets pushed by the trolley before moving.
I tried adjusting the opening and closing distance and that didn't do anything. I made sure everything is connected properly on the railing. I even checked the sensors because everyone says that's the first thing to do.
I have run out of ideas and need some help. Suggestions? Thoughts?

Garage Door Opener Help
Did you check that the little rope pulled disconnect (if it has one) hasn't slipped out of the notch it's supposed to be in to engage the door? Some doors are different than others, but I think you will get the idea from looking at this.
