Torsion springs store a considerable amount of energy. Many have been injured working on garage springs. I'm all for DIY, but in this case, call in a pro. I would also disconnect your opener and open the door manually and as infrequently as possible until the door is fixed.
What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it.
If you disconnect the operator, you probably won't be able to open the door. Best bet is to leave it alone until someone can repair it. Continuing to use it will likely ruin the operator in short order. Torsion springs can break bones and wreck things pretty quickly if you make a mistake during repair. It's obvious you have no experience with them, so do yourself a favor, call in a pro.
