Garage/Den Insulation
1 Attachment(s)
My den shares a wall with my garage. The den wall has built in shelves that extend out into the garage. My problem is that my den gets cold from the cold air in the garage. The wall in the garage is part drywall part cement block( around the back of the fireplace). So the wall doesn't have a very uniform look. I am looking for an easy way to add insulation particularly over the parts that are currently drywall. Any ideas on the best/easiest way to insulate?

How much space do you have between the block wall,+ door rail,+ hardware,..??

You might be able to box out,+ insulate both sides,+ just sheetrock over the block part.....

There is about a foot and a half between the end of the drywall and the end of the block wall. When you say box out, you mean add put down a wood framing and then insulate that and then sheetrock it? is there any type of sheetrock that would come with insulation on it so i don't have to do the wood framing?
