French Drain to nowhere
It now looks that a basement moisture problem is related to a large terrace way above grade that was simply filled with clay/dirt on the assumption it would drain and not seep into basement.

Am thinking I could try running two drain pipes from the terrace out to the back at a depth a few inches below the level of the basement interior drains.

It feels like some of the terrace fill has leeched out to the basement and the yard.

It's about 60 foot to a place where a pipe can come out.

Thanks for any input

Here is the link to the google image.

Behind the terrace is dry crawlspace

The right side with casement windows is dry at ground level. But there is a sub basement three feet lower that gets the moisture.

At the terrace base in corner by picture window, you can see where clay from terrace fill has been pushed under the footiings and up.

The grade from the terrace base is flat for about 50 ft and slopes a further 6 ft thereafter.

Hope this helps.

This image should work by pasting in your browser window

Board tells me I need more posts for images to be displayed. But I would think a google link to my google drive would work by pasting.
