Free CAD


Anybody know of a free download to just do some simple drawings like a deck?

I believe WillieT uses Google Sketchup with excellent results.

we use it at work all the time as well. i'd recommend it.

is it not downloading for you or is it downloading somewhere and you can't find it?

So once you have it do you have to be online to use it?

I have an older version on an offline machine. It works.
dunno if newer will or not.

I have it on two different laptops and use it off-line without a problem. Make sure you have the min system requirements and you save it to a location you can find after the install.

Sketchup is a really powerful design tool. I recommend getting a copy of the book "Sketch up for Dummies." There's also a lot of tutorials on Youtube.

I noticed the site says for Windows XP/Vista... has anyone tried it with Windows 7?

same here. works better on 7 than it did on XP imo.
