Framing a Basement
We recently built our house and I am looking at finishing the basement. To my surprise the builder insulated the basement walls (using yellow insulation and a piece of plastic to hold it into place). The exterior of the basement was sealed prior to being back filled so I don't think moister is going to be an issue. Is it possible to frame over this plastic/insulation which would save me money in purchasing insulation? My final plan for the basement is a pub/bar. Thanks

Pretty standard in a bunch of places to use poly skrim insulation.

+1 from GBR. Gotta know where you are located to talk recommendations.

The builder uses that type of insulation to meet energy code to close the sale. Read the link given and realize foam board is the safest way without moisture problems. Pull the plastic off and add the FG to the attic...
