Flatbed for truck with wooden storage boxes?

My main question is how i should build my outdoor storage boxes? the flatbed is just going to be pressure treated planks that i may or may not stain. and then i was going to build a couple storage boxes on top of it.

How should i weather proof the box so it doesn't rot? what type of plywood should i use? i'm guessing it will also need some kind of vent so that condensation can't collect inside and create mold. should i just paint the entire thing with some kind of primer/sealer/stain? will i have to put some kind of roofing material on the cover of the little box? angle the cover a bit?

I'm open to all kinds of ideas and suggestions, and if you like i'll send you pictures of the final product if i go with your suggestion.

I'm looking for a simple and practical solution that works and will prevent the wood from rotting or attracting mold

Anyone with experience in building outdoor storage boxes?

Thanks

And what do you want it to look like? Is this going to be a show type deal of a work truck?
My main concern it the box. Plywood just does not hold up well outside, no matter what type you use. Why wood. A real job box or an aluminum tool box would be water tite and hold up far longer.

I'm not concerned how it looks at all, it's a work truck, as long as it's practical and does its job.

I was thinking of building it something like this:

http://www.besttrack.com/storage_box.htm

And have weather stripping around the door, and some kind of vent, but not sure if i should stain it or what kind of stain to use. or if i should wrap it in something instead.

I thought about just buying an aluminum toolbox, but they're rather pricey and i couldn't really find anything that are the sizes i want. i might end up building a box the size of the flatbed and a foot tall, so i can also sleep on top of it

if your going to build it out of plywood i would seriously consider cladding it with aluminum or something keep the plywood dry.. just because the plywood has weatherstripping it doesnt mean the box will stay dry inside.. plywood can only absorb so much moisture before it begins to drip through

Try some water resistant manuf wood sheet product other than plywood. Or, coat it with fiberglas.

May want to check on Craigs list. I see them listed all the time on there.
Look under tools and just type in tool box for a key word.
