Flaming Granite

I have numorous Granite slabs that are polished on one side,2-3 inches thick.I want to use them as pavers for a walkway and patio in my back yard.I have heard of a process called flaming granite to make them less slippery when wet or covered with snow.I would like to know how this is done and what I need to do.Any help would be most appreciated.Thank you

Flaming Granite

I saw it done on TV once...This Old House did it. I'm thinking they did it to granite, but it might have been bluestone. They used a propane tank and a big torch head as I recall.

I can't say I've ever seen it done in person though.

There is a video of somebody doing it here they don't really explain it but you can see the process.
